Terms of service

These terms cover your use of this website and the general basis of our work. Every paid engagement also gets its own written proposal, which takes precedence over anything here.

Using this website

You’re welcome to read, share, and quote this site. Don’t attempt to breach it, scrape it at volume, or use it to send anything unlawful. We may change or remove content at any time without notice.

Information here isn't advice

Pages describing our services, process, and sample artefacts are for general information. Sample figures and example projects on this site are illustrative, not promises of a result. Nothing on the site constitutes technical, legal, or financial advice for your specific situation — that comes from an engagement.

Quotes, scope, and pricing

Prices shown as “starting at” are indicative ranges, not quotes. Real pricing follows a conversation and lands in a written proposal that states scope, deliverables, timeline, and cost. Work outside that scope is agreed in writing before it starts.

How engagements run

  • Your part. Timely access to systems, people, and decisions. Delays on access move timelines.
  • Our part. The deliverables named in the proposal, on the agreed timeline, by people competent to do them.
  • Invoicing. As set out in the proposal — typically a deposit, then milestones or monthly. Payable within 14 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Ending early. Either side may end an engagement with written notice. You pay for work completed to that point; we hand over what’s finished.

Who owns what

Deliverables we build for you are yours once paid in full. Our own tools, templates, methods, and know-how stay ours, including anything we reuse across clients. Third-party software keeps its own licence terms, which pass through to you. Site content, branding, and marks are ours.

Confidentiality

What we learn about your business stays between us. We won’t name you as a client or publish a project write-up without your written permission. We’re happy to sign your NDA.

Third-party services

We often recommend or configure software we don’t control — hosting, cloud platforms, security tools. We’re not responsible for their outages, price changes, or terms, though we’ll help you work through them.

Liability

This site is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any engagement is capped at the fees you paid for it, and neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost profit or lost data. Nothing here limits liability that can’t lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the province and country in which Ascended Scope IT Consulting is registered, and disputes go to the courts there. Confirm your jurisdiction here before publishing.
